YMCA Kaua'i Hoe Wa'a welcomes its members to the 2008 OC1/OC2/Surfski season!
We hope this site better serves our members with up-to-date race information. Please check out KHW news for all race information; course description and changes, registration times and location, and any other last minute changes and or cancellations that may occur.
We hope to continue to improve this site with race results, race photos, local weather information, etc.

Safety, Participation, and Competition!
* All paddlers must have a leash in order to race. Very simple. No leash. No race.
* Registration closes promptly at 11:00 am.
* Due to safety and liability, there will be NO UNOFFICIAL paddlers on the course!
* For those who pre-registered at our safety meeting, you must check in with registration prior to racing.
* For those that wish to pre-register for all the races at our first race...entree fee for 6 races is $90 for members.
* Membership benefits include; savings of $5 on each race, association t-shirt, and discount on association paddling jersey.
* Family membership discounts.

ex. wind 050 at 15 (50o at 15 mph)

2) Call 808.245.3564 for Hawaiian Coastal Waters Forecast from National Weather Service in Lihu'e.
3) www.accuweather.com requires only zip code or city name for detailed forecasts. Or go straight to hourly wind forecasts for Lihu'e.
4) NOAA National Weather Service also has a Hawaii hourly wind summary for Lihu'e, Princeville, Po'ipu, PMRF, and Port Allen.
5) Call 808.973.6114 for NOAA Buoy 1 info.
6) Check surf conditions at NOAA National Weather Service.
7) Call your friends!
